Headlamp Wiper (interchangeable parts?)

BTW: The Letter symbols for the later models (S, C, V) are correct except for the V. It doesn't mean "Wagon" (although the practical understanding is just that) but it means, in Sweden at Volvo anyway, it designates "Versatile".

I've heard Station Wagon and Estate Wagon but never Versatile - I guess you learn something every day!

I've heard both V = Versatile and V = Vagn (Swedish for wagon).

So speaking of these massively annoying little parts, the passenger side wiper motor will not turn off on my car! The wiper arm does not move unless you tap it, at which point it stays in the upright position and will not come back down until it randomly decides to do so. The washer fluid does not come out of the washer anymore either. I also just had the wiper stolen off the arm at school (don't ask me why) and I am at the point where I just want to disconnect the motor from its power source. Simple task I thought, but when I looked the procedure up in the repair manual it basically said nothing about how to do so. Can anyone help with this or explain what is going on. Its drained my battery a few times too, and that motor running gets really old after a while.

you may get better results starting one of your own.

That said, I think you have more than one problem here.
Every wiper motor in the car, most ALL cars in fact, have
a tiny set of switch contacts inside that tell the wiper when
it's "home". That set of contacts is open when the wiper
is parked at "home". You're may have gotten goofy...
There's also a tiny circut breaker in there, but if they
keep running, I don't think that's your problem.

But all wiper power runs through the ignition switch,
so there's not really any way that they could kill the battery.
You probably have a problem with something else drawing
power when the key is off. That's a whole different thing.

Just recently found some like new head light wiper arms with good blades at my local JY. Only my driver side wiper functions properly for now cause i got bigger fish to fry. I like this option personally, whether it's practical or not it just represents the classiness of a Volvo.
