2000 S80 trans range sensor

Hi All,

My trans service light came on. I scanned this and turned it off. The code was I believe was P705, does any one know where this sensor is located? I'm having problems acessing my manaul. Who has the best manaul for this car? The one I have is a PIA.

Which manual do you have? The only 'manual' I know about other than an owner's manual is VADIS which is a CD which you can buy on ebay for a few dollars.

Range sensor is inside the transmission. You have to lower the subframe and then lower the eng/trans as a unit so the end cover will clear frame rail for removal. Once end cover is off the range sensor is not too hard to replace.
Before you do that, remove and inspect and clean the round connector going into gear box on the end. The connector will be oval and if you squeeze the wide parts the connector will round and pull off the trans side of connector.
