Swap Manual Driver's Seat for Power seat 99 V70?
I got a nice power memory Driver's seat out of a junk yard 99XC V70 and tried installing it in my plain Jane 99 V70 5 speed with manual seats. All the clips are on the wiring harness under the seat so that step was easy BUT the seat doesn't work. Tried the controller in my friend's 98 V70 and it worked fine. Seat heater worked when I had the seat hooked up. In reading some past posts about attempting this kind of a switch there was mention of possible software issues or lack of power wire in the clips but these were all posts about using a newer seat in older cars. Is switching from manual to power seats possible here without additional parts or dealer upgrades? Thanks for any input!
If you still have your friends car with you, open the hood. Undo the three or four torx screws at the fuse box, and remove the fuse box cover thingy. You should have just revealed relays. Check to see if your friend has some extra little silver ones. Try putting his silver ones into your car. See if that works.
I had to do that after installing V70R seats into my 98 V70. Passenger was a manual and I swapped it to a power. I figured it out by putting my relays from my 855R into the V70.

Bad News Update - Thanks for all the help rmorse! The #39 Circuit Breaker under the Fuse box cover was empty as you pointed out so I swapped in the 20A one from the #37 slot and hooked up the seat again. Dead - Nothing. My friend let me bring my junkyard seat over and swap it out with his power seat in his 98 V70 and everything on my seat worked perfectly. I did notice that under his Fuse box cover - he has a black rectangular relay 101B 102E 1378076 that my car doesn't have but I have functioning cruise so is that really what this relay does (illustration)?

Stumped. Still no go on the power seat.
