Ok, seriously? My dipstick IS smoking a bit. I don't have a glove, so I put some saran wrap over it, and it bubbled up a bit. WTF? I replaced EVERYTHING on the PCV system. EVERYTHING. This ain't my first rodeo doing a PCV job on these cars. First time on a turbo though. What did I miss? And yes, I did clean the PTC nipple thing.

Still looking for ideas as to why my car is still smoking at the dipstick.

Did you scrape out both of the lower engine block ports? The lower one is especially prone to clogging where it goes around a corner.

Is the small vacuum hose in the PCV system still on? Mine kept blowing off, and I finally clamped and glued that sucker down.

Yea I did....a lotta gunk was in there.

Refresh my memory....which hose is this? Where does it go to? Ar eyou talking about the one that goes to the PTC nipple?

Yep. From there to the left side of the intake manifold.

When did you last change your oil? If you're coming up on a change soon, pick up a can of Seafoam, remove the PCV hose from the top of the valve cover, and pour some of that stuff down in there. That'll go down into the separator box and clean that and the passages out. I was getting a teeny bit of smoke 40,000 miles later after my PCV job this summer, and that took the smoke away again

What about doing the full seafoam treatment? I wanted to do that for some time now....

Just changed the oil 350 miles ago. I'll check the hose when I get home today.

Go for it if you want when you're closer to your oil change interval again; you might need more than 1 can though.

So, in addition to putting the stuff in the gas tank, oil cap, and the intake manifold, you'd also remove that hose and pour some down in there.

I plan on doing mine here again in a few weeks into the intake manifold - it seemed to smooth out the engine quite a bit last time.
