I guess the interesting thing is that the windows don't work, the sunroof doesn't work AND the mirrors don't work. BUT the locks work from the master switch.
I do have new switches for the passenger front (that one had just fallen apart) and the master control switch from switchdoctor.net. But the real question is why the locks work if the windows don't and why the mirrors don't work since they're on a differenct switch.
Any ideas before I haul my baby off to the greedy Volvo dealer? Should I install the new switches or is it possibly something else altogether?

you can do the new switches yourself. There is a write-up on this forum.
The locks, mirrors, and windows are on a seperate circuit. Have you check your fuses inside (under driver's knee) and under the hood box?

I have two fuse boxes under the hood, both of which I've checked and I don't see anything. Nothing inside. I know I can the switches but honestly I don't want do the master control switch if it isn't the problem. (The passenger switch just fell apart and I do need to do that one anyway.) I'm wondering why the locks work from the master switch but the windows don't which suggests that maybe the problem is further down the pike.
The other thing is (which I keep forgetting) is that the passenger window stopped working first. It hadn't worked for a couple of weeks before the all the windows stopped working. Can this one window stopping working trigger all of them to stop working?

I had a very similar problem to yours (sunroof, windows and the radio did not work). I all came down to changing relay 105. It is a J-type relay (which you probably have a few of) and it is located in the fusebox closest to the windscreen - you just have to screw off the top. Try swapping the two J-type relays in there - then your headlights wont work, but your windows should! Good luck. By the way, I went to O'reilly auto parts for a new one - they couldn't find it from the partsnumber, so I oredered a "starter relay" in stead (which from the diagram should be the same) - everything works great now.
I have working windows! I replaced the switch on the passenger side first and lo and behold that window worked. So I wjized around to the driver's side and when I tried the old master switch everything worked perfectly. The only things I can think of are 1.) when that switch fell apart and the pin dropped into the switch, it caused an intermittent short; or, 2.) that all switches need to be working to complete the circuit for everything to work.
Anyone need a brand new master control switch at a steep discount?
