Hi, im looking for a switch similiar to the one for my heated seats on my 850, i plan on putting on in the dash in the open spot, that way i can hook up my remote wire from my amp to my radio, and have access to turn it on and off. i pulled out the insert its part number is 6818646-3
Im also looking for the easiest place in the fire wall to put the positive cable through, it runs on 12 watt, which is what my battery supplys. I was hoping to match the switches, i just dont know if there is another accessory i could potentially have to fill that location or not.
Thanks alot
AJ

Amp On/Off switch - Sub Hookup
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you.

The back of your stock radio provides a switched amp/on signal wire form the cd changer plug along with the audio outputs.
There is a conduit just under the power brake booster that is very useful for running wires etc.
The battery provides 12 volts (12.6 to 14v depending on rpm). Your battery probably can put out 500+amps. Even at 500amps you have 12v X 500amps = 6000 watts.

No junk yard nearby? No prob - You can find pretty much any switch you want on eBay. Be sure to get the pigtail.
The info for the amp connector only applies if he has a stock radio.
But why shut off the amp that way and kill all the audio? Just turn off the radio...
My guess is the OP has an amp running a sub that he'd like a kill switch for.
And I suspect that he already knows where to find the remote lead.
And 500 amps? C'mon...Not for long.
That's Cold Cranking Amps for initial starting current.
So the guys substituted "watts" for volts. No biggie.
OP - Good luck on the switch!
I'm a little confused by parts of this reply.JDS60R wrote:The back of your stock radio provides a switched amp/on signal wire form the AMP connector along with the audio outputs.
