It may be the trans. I've only had the car about 6-7 weeks now.
I have an appointment tuesday for the trans fluid. The upper mount is also sloppy but it doesn't feel like it's coming from there.
But who knows. Both things need to be adressed regardless and we'll see where it goes.
Thanks!
Right side thumping?

Hi, I have the same problem which is why I am researching on this forum. I thought it was the lower wish bone bushes so replaced them on both sides but the knocking is still there. We have very bumpy roads where I live and every little bump causes this knocking in the suspension. I have order new anti roll bar drop links which I am hoping will arrive today and they will be replaced. I will post after I have replaced these to let you know if this has cured the problem. Whilst checking the suspension for loose bits I also checked the steering rack and found some movement. Not lateral play which would indicate a failed steering rack but movement in the outer control arm. This seems to twist with about an inch or two play between the ball joint in to the rubber gaiter. It almost feels as if the joint in the rubber gaiter is dry and needs greasing. When moved up and down it does make a noise which could be the knocking I hear when going over bumps. Does anyone else have this movement? Is this normal? I will post again once the drop links have been fitted.

Anti roll bar drop links replaced and the knocking has stopped. When the drop links were on the car under load I could not feel any movement but I read on another forum about a guy stating that when he rocked his car using the roof bars from side to side he could hear the same knocking noise. I went further to this and before replacing them I got the wife to rock the car whilst I got underneath and held the drop link bar in my hand. Not only could I hear the noise but I could feel movement and the knocking. Very easy and cheap to replace and the knocking has gone. Now I can hear a squeaking at the back which the knocking at the front had drowned out so I am off to investigate that now. Should have bought a louder stereo.
I've also finally figured out my "clunking". As I mentioned before, I was worried about it possibly being a CV shaft issue. Got thinking a little more, and thought maybe the CV bolt is loose.
Did a little research, and it turns out loose CV bolt is a common problem.
Walked out at midnight tonight, popped off the center cap, put a 14mm socket on it to see if it's the right size, and the damn bolt spins by hand!! Looked up the torque specs, retightened the bolt, and problem solved.
