ignition coil

Post by windpirate »

Hey guys I'm running out of options here. Is there way to test the ignition coil. I have spark coming out of the coil. But none at the spark plugs. I have 11.5 volts at each wire (red and blue on the coil with the key on. is this normal? Is there anything else to check? Thanks

Sounds like your coil test is already done.
Check/replace downstream parts:
Cap, rotor, wires, plugs.

I replaced all of those today. Is it possible that the coil is putting out weak spark? Thanks.

I have the same problem. I get battery voltage at both terminals but no spark. resistance from each terminal to output wie to distributer is around 8k ohms. I think i saw somewhere where one terminal should be around 8K ohms and the other some other value. Anyone?

Mine didn't . Found out that it was a loose connection at the fuel relay that is on top of the fan. Still don't understand why I didn't have spark.
