Suddenly out of nowhere yesterday, I encountered a new issue.
I was at the gas station getting gas. I had about 5 gallons in the car, added about another 10 to 12 gallons. Got in the driver's seat fired it up and drove off, got 15 feet and the moment I took my foot off the accelerator, it died.
Drove it home with the same symptoms and parked it figuring maybe it was just a fluke (yes, I get that was awfully optimistic thinking on my part). I fired it up this morning and it's doing the same thing, runs fine while my foot is on the accelerator, but the moment I remove it, it dies. This is a '98 V70XC AWD with only about 242k miles, just in its prime.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!
No idle, dies if I take my foot off the accelerator

I would check the IAC hoses. I had a very similar thing happen on my 97 850. I was able to drive but it died as soon as i got my foot off the pedal. Popped the hoses back on and it was fine. If the hoses are ok, check the IAC itself. If you fully disconnect the IAC and shake/spin it gently (i thought it like starting a fire with a stick..spun it between my hands in a "brr im cold" way) you should hear some movement inside. Look inside, if its black and gunked up you might need to clean it the hell out of it with some carb cleaner.
If its not that, i have no idea. Check your hoses though.
