Networking of parts etc.. 850 R

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Networking of parts etc.. 850 R

Post by UncleBoost »

Greets fellow Volvulans... I was wondering ..I'm sure there are many people on this forum from the Native land in which our cars were made. Wondering if Parts in what they call (Bone yards) are as readily available as parts from what we call (Junk Yards) for GM, Ford, Chrysler etc. over here in the US. In particular we have a junkyard (local pick and strip) that sells parts Dirt cheap and I'd be willing to do some networking in exchange for hard to get parts here in the States. Mostly manual Gear boxes since most of the Volvos that show'd up here had Slush Boxes. I would like to hear from our Euro Brothers abroad about the availability and price of Manual gear boxes, linkage, actuators, Manual ECU's ..the whole 9 in the Boneyards over the way for 850 R's and RWD models.
How plentiful are they? How adaptable are the Euro Electrics to our USA versions.. I have a 1996 855 R (Estate), Auto Tranny with everything stock except the addition of a 16T. I have a manual setup on the shelf waiting to go in but would like to find a Manual ECU to avoid the obvious little quirks.
I'm sure this isn't the 1st time this has been asked...
Thanks in advance
