In light of the issues that I have had with the GM 4T65EV/GT tranny on my 2004 XC90 T6 which has lead to its ultimate failure,

I would like to learn of other owners experiences in these cases.
To this end if people would care to share this information I would be grateful. Please start your posts (if any with the following information
Model of car :
Model Year :
Engine : (Volvo B code & Capacity)
VIN (optional):
Date Issue or failure occured:
Mileage of KM at failure (if known):
Description of issue or failure:
Repairs Independent specialist or Main Dealer :
Rebuild of Transmission or Full Replacement:
Warranty covered : Yes/No
If no, cost of rebuild/replacement:
Did VCC/VCUK contribute? Yes/No
If Yes, amount of contribution :
I ask as this information will help me in some way to ascertain the level of failures and build a concrete substantive base of information to go back to VCC and VOSA here in the UK to illustrate the scale of the issues. It would be better to have an idea of this information rather than to base the case on the sheer level of anecdotal evidence that can be found in plenty of forums and the internet.
Thanks in advance
Kevin

I have had a call from VOSA (UK equivelant of NHTSA) who are investigating this with VCUK. The car is booked in with the Main Dealer for Thursday and I have been informed by VOSA that both VCUK and one of their engineers will be visiting the dealer to inspect the vehicle. Lets see what happens.

Our Volvo XC90 2003 lost it's transmission at about 50,000 miles, which was past the five year warranty. In speaking with the technicians, they indicated it to be a known flaw and replaced the entire transmission for only $500 (labor). They did not indicate how many issues they've seen locally, but they didn't seem at all surprised that the transmission failed in such a short time frame.
Now we're experiencing other sounds coming from the "new" transmission or another part of the car. This car has been a headache to say the least.
