Oil Trap service done...oil still being pushed up dipstick

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

That crack doesnt look too bad, I dont think it would cause the issues you are seeing.
All a compression test is going to do is tell you how good the compression is, obviously. These figures are be nice to know, but they arent going to show you where you are leaking compression. Thats why I would reccomend a leakdown test. Sure you can add oil to each cylinder and see if the compression goes up, but really thats not a very scientific approach..
Go to harbour freight and get yourself a leakdown and compression tester. For the leakdown basically you will be applying compressed air to each cylinder and observing how much leakage there is in addition to listening to where its getting out. In my motor, cylinder #2 is not in great shape and its audibly obvious that there is leaking past the rings on this cylinder as you can hear it almost rushing into the crankcase when you apply compressed air.

Sweet I will get me a leakdown tester!!! I would prefer that method because you don't need 2 people to do the job... where as the compression test I will need 2 people.

I don't think I need a compression test right now.

The thing I don't like..... my motor has a serious issue. I thought being a Volvo the motor would run till 400,000kms without coughing. This car has the oil changed every 5000kms and for the first 3-4 years it had nothing but synthetic (my Dad bought the car brand new in '99). My buddy in high school drove his parents 240 GLT and it had 500,000kms on the orignal motor.... it was a tank. Dissapointing to say the least

The body on the car is in great shape, no rust and it has no warning lights on the dash...which for these '99s is rare

I too have an S80T6 with about 230, 000 miles. I've had issues over the years. One weak link in this engine design appears to be the exhaust valves. But I have been told that the use of mid to high octane fuel may prevent this. Good luck with your repair.

You can do a compression test by yourself too. Most gauges hold at the highest reading achieved and have a schrader valve to release the pressure when you get the reading.
The kicker with the PCV system, apparently is that when it gets clogged more carbon and other nasties remain in the oil, increasing bore\ring\piston wear.

Again, you might just have some coked up ring packs which a treatment if AutoRX will help. You could do a compression test to get comparative readings of before/after AutoRX treatment. I wouldnt discount a compression test, but I think you will end up doing a leakdown anyway, so you might as well start there. Remember to do with with the motor warm if you can.

I bought a can of SeaFoam. What is the best method to use this on an S80 T6?? intake using a vacuum line? if so which vacuum line? Oil? or Gas?

I have seen some people use 1/3 of the can in the gas tank 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in through the intake, is this the best method?

***New UPDATE***

Today I did a compression test with the engine being warm. I got the following readings
Cyliner #1 - 185psi
Cyliner #2 - 185psi
Cyliner #3 - 187psi
Cyliner #4 - 175psi
Cyliner #5 - 185psi
Cyliner #6 - 190psi


So everthing looks great! this is good news. However I am not sure why this thing is still throwing oil up the dip-stick tube? could there be a blockage in the oil pan?

Yep, thats a possibility.

Did you ever solve the puking oil from the dipstick? If so, what was the problem/solution?
