V40 stalling, DSA light on and high speed fan turns on after

Post by sarava1 »

Went on a short ride 3 MI and when I tried to start the car to come home it started hard, wouldn't idle and the DSA light was on and didn't respond to attempts to switch it off. Tried again this morning and still didn't idle and after a couple of tries and I turned off the ignition. The high speed fan came on after I turned off the ignition and continued to run. After a few minutes I removed the relay in the engine compartment fuse box. Can someone tell me how this is all connected and where do I start ?

I just solved my problem. It was a sticking idle control valve. Read a lot of posts and it seemed the right place to go after observing that the fuel pressure seemed to be quite high( my own unorthodox test procedure). I ruled out the fuel pump and started looking at other possibilities.

Thank you for the update.

Did you find out how it was affecting the DSA light?

I don't have a clue why the DSA light went on. Do you have any idea.
