Hello,
I recently was given an 89' 240 wagon that was sitting for 3 years. After towing I tried to start it and it did turn over
but did not start. The battery seemed strong for its described condition and even rolled the power window up and down
that day. I had to leave it for a day being I work with limited time for this hobby. This morning I had a chance to take a longer look and play around with it to see what I could find out. The battery power still seems strong enough to make lights come on
and roll windows up and down but no turn over fan crank like the day before yesterday. Originally I thought I was not getting
gas or something expecting to have to deal with injectors or fuel pumps/relays/filters.......
now I just would like some "What would YOU do" style advise....
Thx

You are going to need a new battery. You could probably charge this battery and try to get this car started. I would go with new plugs first. Since the gas is three years old, that could also be causing some issues. So list:
1. New battery
2. New plugs
3. Start car
4. Let us know what happens

The power needed to roll up or down a window is nowhere near what is needed to fire up an engine. After sitting 3 years the battery will, in all probability, be incapable of holding the charge if you were to recharge it. However, recharged it may be able to start the engine to see if everything works.
Fuel left in tanks for a long period of time is virtually useless. If there is only a small amount in the tank you could put in sufficient to negate the ill effects of the old stuff. If there is 1/4 or more of a tank it needs to be drained and new fuel put in.
Bill.
