window wipers

I ,have a 2005 xc90 and after putting new wipers on the front windshield and they works well for a couple of times. After putting my car in the garage, the window wipers were in the up position and on a dry windshield. Once I turned the car back on the window wipers engaged on a dry windshield and the drivers side wiper, dis-engaged will not engage now. The passenger side is working fine. How do I fix this situation? It's snowing here.

Lift up the cover at the base of the wiper. Inspect the nut and assure it is tight.

Turn on the wipers and see if the drive is turning and the wiper is not. If the nut can not be tightened more, then the wiper arm is stripped.

If the drive does not function at all, when on, then write back and let us know. We will post directions to get into the wiper drive system.
