Doing the LF hub. That thing is SO tight, with rust all around. I hit it 2 days ago with Liquid Wrench penetration oil, then again 3X today.
I have a 1950s PLOMB 1/2" breaker and a new Craftsman 36mm bit. Good fit, not slipping, it just won't move. I've tapped the nut with a punch and hammer, not too crazy, just enough to get its attention. No dice.
Breaker is probably 14 or 16".
Needless to say, I don't have air tools, nor do I know anyone with them. Well, let me call my mom's husband...
Man am I having a heck of a time getting off the 36mm nut

You'll need a convincer—2-3 foot length of pipe to slip over the breaker bar, extending the length of the lever by at least twice. That's how I got mine off. My 93 850 is a 5 speed manual. I had to have someone stand on the brake pedal with the engine running before I could break those nuts.
If you live in the Minneapolis area you can borrow mine.

It's actually 19". Just looked it up. But I'll try some pipe, thanks for the tip, Jim.
Question: what did the brake/engine do?
If pipe doesn't work, I'm thinking about lowering the weight of the car down on it. I'll use a jackstand mid or 2/3 down the length of the bar. I am determined.

I've always done mine with the wheel on the ground. You either have to use the pipe or or an impact.

The reason I had someone stand on the brake pedal, was b/c with the trans in gear, the wheel rolled a bit, just enough to prevent the nut from cracking.
By the way, Harbor Freight has a great tool sale on this month. I bought a 25 inch x 1/2 drive breaker for about $10.00. I used to crack head bolts recently, still using my pipe and they broke free a lot easier than the last time when I used the 19 inch with my 2 foot pipe.

I used a 3/4 breaker bar and a six foot pipe and was picking the car up off the ground before it finally broke loose.
