Catalytic Converter Options

Hi,

I just purchased a 1995 850 and there are a few things I need to get taken care of.

The vehicle came with a "performance" cat welded in. It seems to work fine but is annoyingly loud.

I want to replace it with something stock or close to stock, but I need to keep this priced reasonably.

Is there a decently priced quality bolt in option? I heard some where poor quality and want to avoid those.

Alternatively, I could have the performance cat cut out and something else welded in. Is there something available close to stock?

The cat doesn't alter the noise much. If you have a good performance cat welded in I would leave it and look at a resonator and muffler that suits your tastes.

+1 on keeping the cat you have now. I'd just put a oem muffler on the car that should quiet it up quite a bit.

The rest of the exhaust is OEM. I think original and not leaking.

I should add the car only has 78K
