S60 R wheel sized

I have a 2006 S60 R. I have 18 inch wheels, and when I turn all the way, the tires rub. A shop said this is normal wiht the R's, it seems that if that were true, it's a bit of an engineering oversight.... Is this normal?

Also, I was hoping to get 17 inch wheels for winter snow tires. Any good places to get a less expensive 17 inch wheel for winter tires, and can an S60R that came with 18 inch wheels take 17 inch wheels?

I have 17's on my 02, from the factory. They run, but my tires are super square at the sidewall. I plan to replace them with tires that are more rounded on the shoulder. They run all the way at the lock, not before. It might be the same for your 18's.

Try discount tire. I think their steelies start at like 80 a piece. or ebay, craigslist...
