2001 V40, No Radio Code Works
2001 V40, No Radio Code Works
I recently purchased a 2001 V40 at a car auction and have tried 2 different radio codes the local Volvo dealer gave me. One was based off the VIN, the other was based off the S/N of the unit (HU-615). Neither one has worked. Is there any way to make this radio work? Will I have to buy a new one? Anyone ever dealt with this problem before?

What did the dealer say when you told them the S/N code didn't work? That's out of the ordinary, to say the least.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Took the car in for service today. Service department says the radio must be bad and should be replaced. Sounds like they want $$$ for a new radio. Any ideas here or should I just get a new radio? Should I get the HU-615 or something aftermarket? Looks like the going rate for an HU-615 is $185 on eBay.
