failed bulb, dipped beam

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

failed bulb, dipped beam

Post by the2edwards »

Well hello, I just bought my first volvo, its a 2000 s80 t6. I am getting the failed bulb dipped beam warning.

I have double checked every single bulb. Both high and low beams work fine. Turn signals fine. Fog lights fine. Is it im just having a resistance and popping the code?

I will also mention that I had left a coolant jug cap on the radiator support and closed the hood with it there. It was just after this I noticed the light.

Also the previous owner installed hids. Would that cause anything.

Hi, if you have an aftermarket hid, this will cause the error message to show up. May be you should find out from the previous owner how he got the message to go away the first time, assuming this was the case.

Ok thanks. I don't honestly feel he would know. I guess I will just have to get used to it :/

Would using led load equalizors work to increase the resistance and turn it off?

There are threads on how to fix this problem, alternatively get the HID problem eliminator from www.carhids.com
