boost gauge install

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

boost gauge install

Post by the2edwards »

Well I have just finished installing my autometer gauge in my 2000 t6, but am getting zero reaction from the ga.uge itself. It is a manual full sweep style. I thought it might be I had a leak in a hose so I a small hand vacuum pump and vacuumed to 20 psi on BOTH gauges, it did lose vacuum quickly so I replaced all relevant hoses and vacuumed again and this time it held pressure perfectly. So then to confirm that is would read positive pressure (not just vacuum) I undid the line that attatches to the manifold, with a empty and dry water bottle I poked a hole just big enough for the hose to fit in the hose. With my wife watching I squeeze the bottle and I get 7psi. But as I'm driving and full throttle, both freeway and surface streets I get no sweep on the gauge.

I followed IPDs routing of the hose EXACTLY, although I created my own barbed T using brass fittings. Same concept different hardware.

Here is a link to the video instructions.
