Shifter won't go into Park
Shifter won't go into Park
1996 960 Wagon Shifter won't go into Park. I have removed the top plastic console "plate/dish" over the shifter mechanism, and parking brake handle. Next is a black assembly holding the shifter handle. I can see four mounting bolts. Thin braided cable with a knurled collar comes in from the front of the vehicle. Does that collar unscrew? It appears to have tension. I have several manuals, but this detail is missing. Anybody been this deep before?
