Hi,
I just looked at all 30 pages in the Forum. There is so much I have learned about the car I just bought. Its a great runner and no major problems, at this time. The car has 239,000 on it and I paid a 1000.00 for it. Mechinacally its great with other small problems. I can't find a factory owner manual or any other information about it. There are idiot lights and switches that I don't know what they are for. If anyone can help me find anything thing out, it would be great. I'm working on installing a replacement radio and the wiring at the present time. With what I know/learned about volvos this car should be running for some time.

Should you have any questions, like "what does this idiot light mean?" or anything else, post it here in the forum. I know I can help, having been in your shoes in August of 2004 when I bought my first and only Volvo for now in my life.
One idiot light you may not be familiar with is one that looks like a light bulb with an X through it. This is the "bulb failure warning light". It tells you that you have either a burned out or poorly contacted light bulb somewhere on the car. It monitors the integrity of the low beam headlights, the tail lights and the rear brake lights.
An accessory standard on all Volvos, but unique to the Volvo is "Rear Fog Lights". "Your car has two extra light bulbs in the rear that light only when you turn on the "rear fog light" switch. These bulbs are as bright as the brake lights and are designed to light up the back of your car making it more visible in fog to cars that are following you. The symbol shows a light shining to the right. If your car has the optional front fog lights, you will have two fog light switches on the dashboard. The front fog light symbol is the reverse of the rear fog light symbol.
Again, if you have any questions, just post them here. And remember, the only stupid question is the one NOT ASKED!
