My 2003 Volvo S80 is an otherwise great car, but the radio is dreadful. I like to listen to AM, and with the "internal" antenna, I almost have to be at the radio station before I can hear anything but static. The FM section is not bad, but I know it can be better if there was an outside antenna.
Has anyone added an outside antenna for this car? I found an aftermarket place in Houston that sells and automatic antenna supposedly for this car, but before I buy it (66.00) I would like to hear about anyone else who did the same thing?
Was an outside antenna an option for this car? If so, I don't remember it being offered.
By any chance is there a "connection" in the trunk area for a future addition?
How hard is it to locate the current antenna connection behind the radio? The dash around the factory radio looks sealed.
