Sometimes my post are not recorded. I think it's a timing thing. I click save the same time someone else does.
Shouldn't the machine shop clean all that stuff off? What else should they do? Do they check valves and lifters?

Hey my post was about the BLOCK (lower) surface, I didn't even pay attention enough that you posted pictures of a head. 
I would not do the head myself, get it surfaced at the machine shop.
