control arm bushings
In all the reference I've seen, I've always seen "lower control arm bushing". Never seen "upper" arm bushings mentioned anywhere. Are there upper arms? If there are no upper arms, why make the comparison? I will need to replace my control arm bushing soon and it would be nice to know which ones. Of course replacing them all is a sure thing, but still I'm curious about the upper/lower comparison thing.

A good question. There are no upper control arms. Possibly 'lower' has been added to indicate the location of the control arm, sometimes referred to as the radius arm.
This is a good write-up on this repair.
