Got the ABS and tracs light out. -Thank you Ozark Lee! You da man! On to the check engine light... Car runs and drives fine. Check engine light is on. The only code present is P0120. Checked with OBDII scanner. Graph on scanner shows no glitches in TPS operation. Code comes right back and light comes right back on when reset. Checked vacuum lines and electrical connections. Since it seems to run fine, I would leave it but it will need to go through D.E.Q. Would hooking up to a proper Volvo scanner do anything? I'm hesitant to replace the TPS as it appears to be working okay. Don't have a lot of money to put into it and, honestly just trying to get it to sellable condition. Thanks to the Volvo gurus. Without you and the internet, I'd likely be at a loss.
ATTN. D.I.Y.ers: Don't waste time with an OBDII scanner on theses cars! In a last-ditch effort to get some more pertinent info. on the DTCs, I utilized Vol-FCR software and a generic FTDI USB interface I've used with VAG-COM in the past. After some futzing with COM port settings, I got it to work, and got codes from the trans, the ABS wheel sensors, and climate control. No P0120 (TPS) DTC! Noted the DTCs and cleared them all. Check engine light is out! Now to wait and see which (if any) DTCs come back. Maybe an OBDII scanner is good for something on these cars, but for me, it resulted in a wild goose chase.
