Blowoff Valve WOOOOOOO

Post by jb3fs »

Anyone ever throw a blowoff valve on their volvo turbo? I've breifly looked around and found no info. I also went to a local custom car shop and they were unable to find a flange to fit a volvo but said I could use a generic blowoff no problem. They said it would prob have to be a custom welding job. Any info would be really helpful.

Thanks a bunch for that link Matthew. That was everything I needed to learn bout blowoffs, mbc's and turbos all around.

As for the blowoff, I was going for more the sound than power. I love the pssshhhhh any turbo car makes as it comes up to you at a light. Didn't know if you could try to answer a couple questions I had.

When the noise through the blowoff is made, is that when the clutch is pressed in to release bak preasure? I have a 5 speed.

Also, I didn't want to weld the bypass valve shut, since I'm not going for power. Can I still install the blowoff for the noise?

If I do decide to add some power, I can just add mbc's after the blowoff has been installed and the bypass is still not welded shut, correct?

Thanks in advance if you can help me out yet again! Peace.
