best manual

After owning a variety of Volvo's, from a rusty 122 to a Platinum Edition 850, I'm tearing into a 940T rescued from a trip to the scrap yard to do a head gasket. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best manual for this? I've had varied success with both printed and on-line manuals.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

When I had my 940 I found the Haynes manual fairly useful for most jobs. Now I use Volvo Aftersales Diagnostics and Information System (VADIS). This is the Volvo disc that was used by dealers until about 1999. It has a good workshop section for the 940 and can be bought on eBay.

Thank you, Bill. I ordered what I thought was VADIS for my 850 and never did get it to run. It's inexpensive enough to try it again.

Check eBay UK for best price, definitely lower than the US site. VADIS does not work on Vista, Windows 7 and 64 bit systems.
