Hey Guys,
Really appreciate all the knowledge and know how on this website.
My hood no longer opens. When I pull the release one side will open if someone is pulling on it, but the other side wont budge. Anyone know how I can open the hood?
Also I am pretty sure my alternator is dead. My car won't turn over and the last time I was driving it the light flickered the whole time until the car finally died. Now the dash lights will go on and the key in the ignition sensor beeps, but the engine wont turn. Sounds like the alternator, correct?
Thanks in advance for all help.

See if this diagram will help you. Assuming the cable is stretched (not broken or detached), adjusting it may do the job.
Also, the procedure to replace the alternator in case you need it.

Hood latch - It might help to have someone push down on the hood while another person pulls the latch. I've seen that mentioned in several threads. If that fails, with one side open, you could try to pull on the crossover cable to release the other side, or reach up from underneath and release it. But look at the diagrams first to get an idea how to do it. Do a search and you'll find a lot of threads on this topic.
Starting problem - My suggestion would be to jump the battery first to make sure it starts that way, then see if the battery charges. I would also check out the battery first before replacing the alternator. If the battery is good but doesn't charge, it begins to sound like a bad alternator. But batteries are significantly cheaper than alternators on these cars.
