I have a 2001 S60 T5 and love it however for the past few months its been coughing and cutting out, i give it 30 seconds and it starts fine and drives well for what could be another 100miles again before all of a sudden the revs goes and it just cuts out again, this could be doing 70mph on the motorway or stationary on my driveway, Its now getting too dangerous to drive as i have to just pull over where i can for a minute or so before it starts again. I took it in to volvo who checked all the sensors and said nothing can be found. i then took it to an independant volvo mechanic, after two days of oil pressure checks and road tests he was scratching his head but advised i changed the fuel pump relay, i did this but after 150miles it did it again. What is it??and why is it no one knows what it is? i thought at first it was a fuel problem and some muck in my tank that occassionally caused it to stop, but apparantly if that was the case then it would run rough all the time and not now and then. Anyone else had a similar problem?

SOUNDS LIKE A TROTTLEBODY MUST BE CLEANED.ALL TURBOS 2001 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.YOU HAVE TO REMOVE IT AND CLEAN THAT SUCKER

Hello Everyone!
I am new to this forum, and actually am using it becasue I have a problem with my S60 (which I love overall). I saw that others have problems with sudden engine cut offs. Mine did so today a couple of times while I was stopped at a traffice light. In addition to that, I have had a few occurrences where my steering wheel locked up while I was making a sharp turn with the brake applied while turning. The dealership looked at it before and didn't find any problems... I am taking my car in for a check-up tomorrow, but wanted to see if everyone else had the steering wheel lock-up problem before? I researched on the issue this afternoon on the Internet, and apparently Bentley's have this problem too because of the aluminum parts in the steering column expanding while heated. I have to say that my S60 did lock up before either after a long time of driving on a highway OR today in a 100F degree heat (I live in Atlanta, GA).
I'm hopeful someone will provide the insight on the issue (so that I at least know what to ask for/look for while the car is being serviced).
Thanks very much in advance!

I'm new on this forum. I just say that volvos always have that kind of problems and the interesting thing that services cannot find any solution to fix that problems. This's a chronic situation for volvo in all over the world.
