Greetings to all Brickheads!
On the advice of my chiropractor, I'm going to sell my nice little 242 and get an SUV. So, up for grabs it is.
This is an '82 242 exported from Canada, thus having the B23 powerplant, normally aspirated. Its first owner was a postal worker who stored it winters for its first 28 years. He sold it to a guy in Grand Rapids, who had the rust-free body ("before pix available), media blasted it and painted it Volvo Taxi yellow with a black hood. This second owner also swapped the 4spd manual and its problematic electronic OD for a five-speed unit and rear end from a later model Volvo. He added a new clutch at that time. He did not put in a new speedo/odometer at that time and it shows 052 K miles. He believed it to be 89K when he sold it to me.
I got it late last summer and fixed a number of small things, including the turn signal stalk, brake booster, reverse tail lens. Last week, I had new front struts put in and an oil change with synthetic oil.
There are two tiny (smaller than dime) chips on rear passenger quarter panel sustained when a loose jack in the trunk impacted from within. There is a tiny bubble on the rear valance. Otherwise sparkling clean body and undercarriage!
0Interior has some GT elements that are in decent shape. I'm asking $5,000 locally on Craigslist, but would pass it on to a Brickhead here for $4,500. Lemme know if it appeals to ya!
Cheers,
Brian
