air condition/ heater stopped working

Hi all, as the title suggests, the ac/heater stopped working on my car, its a 200/2001 model v70 - petrol.

so.. i took it to the dealer who said that the ac compressor was ok, it was just the main panel (module?) that was broken, and that it would cost a thousand quid to replace (bear in mind i live in norway and everything is expensive here).

My question is threefold.
a) is there any way i can fix this myself, internal fuses, tips & tricks?
b)how much would this panel cost in the UK
c) is it easy to change?

attached is an image of the bit thats buggered, note, the rear heated window and traction controls are also not working, apparently its included in the same panel.

Hi Me, its Me.

I thought i`d answer my own questions

a) it doesnt seem possible to fix the unit as it is sealed
b) have a look on ebay.co.uk, they are going from between 30 and 50 quid - used
c) yes, its easy, remove the pen-holder plastic just under the unit and unscrew the two screws you see holding the unit in place, pull out from the bottom and it should just pull out.

are you sure?....ask yourself that before you go ahead......check with Steve maybe? (grin)
