Wanted: Stock front caliper carriers for '96 850 turbo wagon

Post by 1800ES »

I'm not sure I'm asking for the part by the correct name, but please keep reading. I just purchased my 850 last weekend and discovered today, when we tried to reinstall the stock 16" wheels, that the car has a big brake kit on the front. I'll be converting back to stock size front brakes ASAP, but because of the previous owner's upgrade, I am now missing the stock carrier for the calipers. All the usual parts places seem to carry everything EXCEPT the part I need.

For reference, I'm looking for part #17 in the picture below...

Thanks. I seem to live in an area that is sorely lacking in junk yards. There is one about 20 minutes away. Tried them one time and they were extremely unpleasant to deal with, so was hoping to find another source.

Most of the good salvage yards nationwide sell on ebay, sometimes with free shipping.I have also found hard to find volvo parts there.

I would do anything I could to keep the 302 rotors and the matching calipers on the car, this option is one of the best I have done to my 96-855T. Look at getting some perfo wheels, they give about the same look as the columbas.
If you haven't considered the rotors, you will need to change them too....

I have no plans to drive this car hard enough to require larger brakes and I absolutely do not want to live with 17" wheels. This car is my second car / bad weather car / car for when my back goes out and I don't want to push a clutch pedal.
