ignition coil

Hi i have just changed my ignition coil was as it was faulty no current coming from it.The new one is fitted and working fine but there is a very loud ticking coming from it is this normal. Thanks

I replaced mine(94 850) as well and it makes no sounds there are no moving parts in them.I wonder if your hearing the ticking from the injectors or a lifter.

The ticking is constant and quite loud.the other coil i changed was the same but not as loud.

I would try looking at it in the dark and see if your having an issue with your coil wire. Look around the coil and coil wire for a spark, I wouldn't stick or poke my fingers around while it's running, you'll probably the the shock of your like...

We used to spray a little water around the secondary in the dark and look for sparks.

Thank you all for your help.I will try out your suggestions and keep you informed.I have looked for a spark on cables and no joy,the problem stated with the car cutting out the R A C said my coil or condenser was not working he had power going to the coil but none coming out.so i changed the coil and now a very loud ticking coming from coil/condenser.
