hi,
I am a new member to the site, and just want to thank all previous contributers for their help.
THANK YOU !
I recently bought a 1992 940GL for my son, and together we have been preparing it for him to use, when he gets his licence.
this site has been a great help, and we purchased parts from one of the site advertisers.
Its heaps cheaper, even with freight, to buy parts from USA, than to buy in australia.
We have just about finished all the 'usual things', for an unknown 940, and we should get plenty of miles out of the 'moosemobile'
One thing happened this week though, the ignition switch electrical component, behind the keys, failed. We got straight onto
MVS to sort out a solution. part now ordered, so it will be back in action soon. however, we had a big win, as the proceedure for this on the site mentions dashboard removal etc. however, we found that with right hand drive, the igniton switch is easily
accessed from the footwell. yey !
I have had a few volvos over the years, but pre the 'interweb' it was a bit hit and miss to diagnose things, and i had to buy local expensive parts. Perhaps the tech revolution is resposible for keeping more RWD volvos on the roads ?
best regards from Bundaberg Australia
Richard

Richard, welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
It's good to know that you have found the site so helpful although you haven't yet asked a question. We aim to please.
We have a growing membership from Australia, with a good number having rear wheel drive cars which, in my opinion, are the best.
Bill.
