S80 T6: auto-to-manual transmission conversion?

so i have been doing constant research regarding this topic of which MANUAL transmission can be swapped for the lovely 4T65E/GT's... came across this pic and..

my discovery, but please correct me or further more continue this research with me:

2003 or so GM's 4T65E can be swapped with the GM/Getrag F40 6 spd manual.

Somewhere the SAAB 6 speed bellhousing comes into play and some more mods.
'Anyone interested to research more with me on this?

Oh and the Pontiac Fiero came with a 5 spd that has the same bellhousing as the 4T65E.. hmmmmm

Off the cuff I would say that the mechanical aspect of this is the least of your worries. Its the electronic side of things that is probably going to be the biggest challenge.
Have you been posting\looking on volvoforums.com at all? Not to move you away from matthewsvolvosite (because it is awesome!), but the S80 board here is not very performance/mod oriented.

IMO the hardest part is gonna be finding a transmission that fits and making space in the engine compartment for it.

I would bet you'll lose STC and ABS - you can probably get a microcontroller to fix this though, you just need something to tell the ECU that the transmission is operating OK
