I have a 94 850 turbo with 211K miles and I have been running M1 HM 10W-40 at 5K intervals. My turbo used to smoke a little on 10W-30 but has stopped since switching to 10W-40.

I am planning to run this V70 to 300~400K as long as the major stuff holds out. The propshaft already broke but I'll put another in at the end of summer. Typically I run my cars to 250~300K and sell them for small bucks or donate. Any real PITA cars get dumped somewhat earlier. The Volvo can be a PITA, but it has proven to be one of the easier to work on cars that I've owned. My perfect car would be an 80 to 90K 97 850R or 98 V70R with an NA or LPT either year as my heavy use machine. 5 years left to work than I can get some nice cars for the retirement years, say an old TR-3 or an MGA, or if the love still lasts, a P1800 or an Amazon.

Drove to Alaska and back (10,000 miles) on Mobil 1 HM 10W-40 and OEM Mahle filter. No problems, didn't burn a drop at 180,000 miles on the clock!
