2000 S70 2.4 (LPT) w/automatic trans
Just bought this car today. It had a completely dead battery when I bought it. I replaced the battery, radio has said CODE the whole time when you turn it on, even during test drive. There is no owners manual for this car and I see no "code" written anywhere in it's paperwork for reference.
Dealership for new code I assume? What do they need, just the VIN or will they need the radio as well? Does the dealer charge for this CODE?
Thank you.
Radio says CODE - just bought the car/no owners manual

Yup, time to visit the dealer. They'll lookup the VIN and get you the code. If you're lucky, they shouldn't charge for this. Once you get it, use a Sharpie and scribble it on the top of the radio so it never gets lost again!

You need to pull out the radio and get the numbers off of it. With any luck, the previous owner wrote the code on the radio itself. If not, once you have all the numbers off of the radio, you can take it to the dealer and ask them to look up the code for you. When I worked for a dealer we never charged for this but that was 10 years ago. Things may have changed since then.

If the radio is original the VIN and a dealer will work
If not you need to pop out the radio and get ALL the numbers (very easy).
A sharp parts person should know how to get the code this way, unfortunately most are not very sharp and haven't a clue how to do this
If need be I can get it for you but ask your dealer with the VIN first

I agree with all that has been said above. Here is a link to the owners manual:

As for the radio, I usually call it in. They shouldn't ask to see what's going on with a 15 year old radio.
