Good day, everyone!
I recently encountered a problem yesterday. Actually, I encountered two. One was the Check Engine light decided to come on saying that I had an EVAP leak. Turns out my filler cap was lose. I tightened it, but the light won't go off. I guess it has to go through a few drive cycles. Another problem I encountered wast that whenever I lock my car, my external lights do *not* flash. I can hear the mechanical "clunk," if you will, of the doors locking, and see the locks going down into the locked position, but do not get the flash of the internal lights, which kind of bothers me. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is and how I could fix it myself, or if I would have to go to a dealer? Help is much appreciated.
Thanks!

The lights will not flash if any of the switches on any "zone" do not indicate closed. The first thing to do is to open and close the hood. The switch on that latch is the most likely to not close. It is a good idea to spray some WD-40 into the latch opening to free up any sticky parts.
