I've been looking for work to move out that way (Cary). Hope it will happen this year but I won't have an Indie nearby to look at my car . God bless on your new endeavors perhaps there will be a new section called Unsolved Repairs just for you to answer questions as you hands won't be getting dirty for awhile! Thanks for all the useful info you've provided.

Blessings,

Seriously, thanks for your contribution.
I always thought a "trader" was someone who buys and sells things LOL

Somehow I think Justin will be just as involved with the forum as he was in the past. It's in his blood now, and besides those Cruze's are bound to be vice free for the first 10 years.

hahaha, I assume you meant traitor?
Justin will still be getting his hands dirty, now it's his turn to come home to help with the car.
As mentioned, she needs a bit of work, nothing near as major as the PCV, TB or solenoids though.
He's very happy with his new car. It's a very pretty car, and it gets great gas mileage. Carlene served him well, and now she's in my hands receiving a full cosmetic restoration.
I'm a big meticulous freak, so I make everything perfect... yesterday was spent detailing the interior down to every little crumb with my detail brush.

I think you're right! I'll definitely try to stick around and answer what I can. There's a lot of great folks here and I definitely enjoy helping out. Heck, it's because of this site that old thing has stayed on the road this long.

Matt and rspi, thanks for the seat removal info!

I hate the Durham area with a passion (grew up here for 18 years), but Cary is very nice. It's a good market to buy a house right now, and there are lots of nice places to live in the Raleigh/Cary area. As both of my parents work for the Duke Hospital system, that was never an option for us.

The Cruze got 30 mpg driving around town today just running errands. I really love the way that the transmission is geared - you are never out of the engine's powerband with the little light-pressure turbo on it. I can't stand the gear ratios on my parents Accord - shift too early (before 3000 more or less) and the engine's power entirely drops off and you're left standing on the gas until it catches back up again.

I set out Thursday or Friday to head to DC and go apartment hunting and it will be the Cruze's first (real) 4-hour highway trip. From there, I start work next Monday. I'll be staying with my best friend's family for the first 2-3 weeks, and then I can coordinate the rest of my move from my place down in Blacksburg and be done with it all!

Justin, I'll create a Chevy website around 2022 when things start breaking on your Cruze ;-).

Hahaha I'll hold you to that, Matt. There'd be a lot more models in that than with Volvos.

I'm looking around for a decent forum for it just to bring myself up to speed and learn as much as I can about those cars as well.
