Everyone says that XemodeX fixes the rough idle and "limp mode" issues but not for me.
When I'm in Drive mode the ETM functions perfectly, no rough idle at all even when I'm stuck in traffic. But, as soon as I put it in Park, the RPMs go up and down. This happens with and without the AC compressor turned on.
Any ideas why this is happening even after installing XemodeX?
Thanks in advance.

Did you speak to XemodeX about it? Apparently they are good at diagnosing and are willing to do it...

Absolutely raise these issues with XeModex.
They may have to send another unit. Reloading software is sometimes an imperfect science or your unit may have board issues (rare but possible)

I spoke to the XemodeX guys and they told me that my O2 sensors are not functioning properly. They told me that filling my tank with premium fuel for one tank will wake up the O2 sensors. They also told me I should go back to mid grade fuel after that. Apparently my 2000 Volvo S80 Non-turbo requires at least mid grade fuel.
Any comments or ideas as to the accuracy of what they said?
Thanks.

Just wondering how they arrived at O2 sensors not working? Did you discuss with them that you have been/are using low octane fuel?

They asked me a bunch of questions and one of those questions was "what kind of fuel do you use?"
Is there any accuracy to what they said?

Don't know about what they said re O2 sensor. But it is a quick test to just put in the high octane gas....

OK guys, I tried the high octane gas but it only helped a little. The car was still throttling and the RPMs were still going up and down. I got lazy and left it alone for a while.
Recently, I got a check engine light for bad fuel mixture in Bank 1 and 2. After reading a billion forum posts, I decided to change the MAF sensor.
Guess what happened after I switched out the MAF sensor? That's right, no more throttling or the crazy RPMs. Everything is back to normal. So the MAF sensor was the real culprit all along.
Thanks for everyone's help, I really appreciate it.
