Need information on 2001 S80 2.4

Can any one help me? I wanna know what type of gear (transmission) is been used in Volvo S80 2.4 2001 with sunroof, its a petrol engine 5 cylinders automatic. I don't know whether its 2.4 T or 2.4 I, its just 2.4

What type of gear (transmission) is it and who's the manufacturer? Like in s80 2.9 the transmission is from GM. So kindly advise if I can use any another vehicles transmission in it. Like I heard Chevy Venture's transmission can be installed in s80 2.9 2001.

It would be an Aisin-Warner 55-50 transaxle. The info people have given you is not 100% correct. Many base transmission designs are the same as far as the internal parts but where it bolts up to back of engine is unique to each brand's own engines.
The Venture may use a GM 4T65 but they do not use Volvo engine in that vehicle so its transmission will not bolt up and work in a Volvo.
There are some users of the AW 55-50 like Saab, Nissan, Renault, and some GM models but those will not fit into your S80.
Your 2.4 should be a non turbo engine or it would be badged 2.4T. It would be wise to know for sure in case badging has fallen off. The transmission for 2.4 and 2.4T can have different ratios and the 2.4T should use AW55-51.
I would think 2001-2002 S60 2.4 and v70 2.4 should be the same as you S80 2.4.

yes jimmy you are correct it AW55-50 , just found a identification plate on transmission itself. thanks for your kind help dude.
