Transmission Pump

Post by awahldo4 »

Hello. I am looking for a good website to buy a replacement transmission pump for my 2001 S60 T5 with the AW55-50sn transmission. Thanks!

Thanks! and to add to the subject.. I just got the time to remove my transmission, and now I am stumped as to how to get the old pump off. and inside my torque converter, there are gears just floating around in there, wondering what my problem is there because I have taken apart larger torque converters and the gears inside are stationary: meaning they remain in the center. Thanks

Transtar is another source of transmission parts. They have locations in Kent and Edmond.
The hub for turbine floats around a bit.
Why are you changing pump? AW 55-50 pumps are not failing that I have seen.
There are two of the bolt holes around perimeter of pump that are 10 mm x 1.5 (maybe its 10mm x 1.25) threaded so you thread a bolt in and use a slide hammer or you put a piece of chain on each bolt and use a pry bar on bell housing face, stuck in chain link, to pull each side of pump in small stages.
Blow the edge of pump clean before pulling it. Sometimes dirt packed in the gap there makes pump removal harder.

Pretty sure I stacked the pump when I installed the new engine in the transmission, the torque converter was not all the way seated in the bell housing when it mated with the flex plate. just trying to figure out whats causing my no-move/no fluid flow condition.

Yep, no question that the pump likely has pumped its last ATF.

Anyone have any tips or guides to disassembling the pump, maybe a pdf or manual. I got the pump out of the transmission housing but now I see that it still has clutch packs attached to it. I dont have snap ring pliers. Also wondering about my torque converter problem. It looks like this:

I have a 4 speed AW50-42 TC laying around. It is the same. I'll check it out.
