Which wire goes where? Coolant temp gauge connector broke

Post by dosmainframe »

Hi Guys, I recently changed out the two coolant temp sensors on my 760 turbo, when I removed the connected for the gauge sensor, it basically disintegrated I pulled the two wires out, as I have done before when replacing the fuel pump, those connectors disintegrated too, but now during all the movements in and out I can't remember for 100% certainly whether the brown wire goes on the left plug or the right plug I'm almost certain it was brown on left white on right, but does anyone know for sure I refuse to hook up the battery or turn the car on to test it until I get this right I've had electrical shorts on a previous 240 and that was a horrible experience.

It doesn't matter. The temp sensor resistor has no polarity. One wire is ground and the other is from the gauge.
