1993 940 Wagon Battery Drains, But It's Not the Batt or Alt!
Hi! My neighbor has a 1993 940 wagon that has a problem no shops have been able to figure out. If the car sits for a day or so, the car needs to be jumped with a portable jumper. The car has been to about 5 different shops, and no one can figure out the problem. The battery has been replaced, and the alternator has been replaced twice. The battery checks out fine, and the alternator checks out fine. What else could be draining this battery? Any input is appreciated!!

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
Check that all interior lights including engine compartment light, if fitted, are off when he leaves the vehicle. If they are all off there is possibly a parasitic drain.
See this post and watch the YouTube video to see how to trace it.

How about an incorrectly installed aftermarket radio head unit? To check for this pull the radio and (if present) radio amplifier fuses before leaving the car to sit overnight. I also had this problem and found that the aftermarket radio was wired incorrectly causing the radio to be turned on all the time. I could have turned the radio completely off but didn't know this at the time.
