740 GL wagon ABS question

Simple question: How does one know if a 740 has ABS? What is the telltale sign?

On a nice, straight, quiet road with no other traffic around take the car up to about 45mph and brake really firmly. If ABS is fitted you will feel a pulsing through the brake pedal.

There is a retangular aluminum block in the engine compartment with a bunch of brake lines connected to it. At each wheel there is a hall pickup and a notched wheel so the computer can tell if one of the wheels locks up. It is on the inboard side of the rotor.
