Broken external door handle RHS front passenger door

Hi all

I am new to the forum and would love some "help" in relation to a failing external front door handle on our XC 90 D5 06 model.
This has only just begun to happen in the previous week. When you pull on the door handle to open the door the handle does not spring back to its normal position without manual force. It's been happening intermittently but I think it's getting worse and noticed last night after I'd gotten inside that the door wouldn't latch closed so I had to reach outside of the car and push it in..I am guessing that it must be a broken or stretched cable/arm??? Just a guess.. Anyway wanted to in envestigate further before I take to a service repairer and get sluggged $$$$ as you do here in Australia. Cheers and many thanks
