Hi Everyone,
I am working on a 740 gle, 1988, and have a problem with the electrical system. The stereo seems to be function properly (i measure a millivolt signal on each of the 4 speaker outputs) but there is no sound coming out of any of the speakers (not even a slight crackle). Pior to this problem, all four speakers would flicker or go out momentarily on rough roads or crossing railroad tracks, so i thought it was a loose connection. All the connections are secure behind the stereo.
Today, i installed a friends stereo into my volvo, and the same thing happens. Is there another, single connection, which if open, would prevent all four signals from reaching the speakers? Or perhaps, I am miss interpreting what i have considered to be the signal (mV), perhaps there is no signal. in which case, is there any connection, which if open, would prevent the stereo from outputing a signal (but the stereo appears to be funtioning properly)? any ideas? Thanks a lot,
John

check the radio ground. If it is broken or disconnected you will measure voltage everywhere (+) but nothing happens.
