TCM software upgrade What does this mean????

Post by S40girl »

I purchased my 2001 S40 1.9T from the 1st owner at 52,000 miles. I soon noticed when the car is slowing down & the RPM's hit 1500 the car feels as if it goes into neutral. THE RPM gage DROPS TO 1000. Dealership seemed clueless. I read something about an software upgrade for customer complaints re: shifting. What is this software upgrade suppose to do? Has anyone had this?? :?: :?:

i have the EXACT same problem, mate....

Feels like it goes into nuetral when I let off the accelerator at city-driving speeds (30ish and below).

WHat the hell is this? My check engine light comes on too, had the MAF SENSOR Replaced because that retarded computer said it was failing..

so far, I think it was wrong and I'm 400 poorer... it didn't fix anything.

Dont know about this idle problem that you guys have, but I was wondering about this MAF sensor replacement that idealflaw is talking about. When you were getting the engine light come on, what code was it spitting out when you got it checked? my S40 is running fine, but it is bringing up the engine light, and no one can tell me whats wrong with the bastard. It brings up a code 0010 but even the volvo mechanic I go to doesn't know what it means. He suggested a possible MAF replacement. Dont know what he is basing this on. Any thoughts?
